How Vaping Changed My Life
I was addicted to cigarettes for over twenty years and after many failed attempts at trying to quit, I was beginning to lose hope. I tried quitting cold turkey on my own, I tried the patches, and I even went as far as prescription medication. Nothing really seemed to work for me.After quitting for a short time, I found myself continuing to smoke. The last thing I wanted was to stay with the bad habit of smoking. Almost ready to give up on my efforts to quit, a friend of mine introduced me to e-cigarettes, and thought it was interesting enough to give them a chance. To my surprise, the e-cigarette was the first thing that satiated my nicotine cravings and resembled an actual cigarette while using. What I enjoyed the most was how I felt while using it. I found within a few days my lungs were already recovering and felt generally more healthy than I had even with the patch and definitely better than my prescribed medication. That’s when I knew this was going to be how I ditched my old habit.
I have now been vaping for five years now, and I have not had an “analog” cigarette for five years! Since I started using e-cigarettes, I noticed a change in the way I breathe, smell, and taste. I live my life more actively, without feeling winded and just falling over. I enjoy the flavors of food like I once did many years ago, and I no longer smell like an ash tray. I also like that the smell of the vapor is not as offensive to the people around you, even pleasant.
Working at a vape shop has been rewarding. I have been able to help so many people find an alternative way to getting off cigarettes. I have watched many clients start at a high levels of nicotine and slowly worked their way down to a low dose or no nicotine at all. Vaping is proving to be a successful method of quitting smoking all on its own.
My final remark on how vaping has influenced my life is the industry’s creation of a tight-knit and vocal community. We all have one thing in common: getting as far away from tobacco as possible. We all need to continue to stand together, and let our representatives hear that we do not support the changes that the FDA has imposed, essentially handing back our industry to big tobacco. We stand by our products that continue to help millions of people, and we cannot afford to have the FDA make our decisions for our community.
